Forest Hills South is a unique apartment cooperative where classic architecture, a park-like setting, and neighborly residents combine to create a welcoming and diverse community united by the joy of gracious living in the city. Composed of seven pre-war Georgian buildings anchored by beautiful gardens, Forest Hills South has 604 apartments, ranging from studios, one-bedrooms and junior 4s, to larger 2- and 3-bedroom apartments, some with private patios and terraces. The buildings include the Parkview, Meadowbrook, and Beaverbrook, on the north side of the property, the Girard, Dover and Dartmouth on the south side, and the Marlborough on the east.

The extensive private gardens are the property’s hallmark and include walking paths and sitting areas for quiet relaxation with friends and neighbors.

Forest Hills South was built over 65 years ago and retains many classic architectural touches such as columned entranceways, high-ceilinged apartments with walnut-inlay floors, crown moldings and built-in bookcases, and terrazzo staircases. Since becoming a cooperative in 1985, several million dollars have been invested in structural and design improvements, ranging from new roofs and windows, to new carpeting and new lobbies, to new elevators and renovated garden walkways. An ongoing capital improvements plan will ensure that the buildings and property continue to be properly maintained and enhanced for the future enjoyment of our residents.
